2025: CLICK HERE to tell us how you paid it forward!

Please tell us how you’ve paid it forward this year! I’m so thankful for everyone taking the time to remember Thor and spread some random kindness.

  1. I was in NYC in Central Park. Came across a kid about 13 or 14 busking, playing his heart out on the guitar and singing. The kid wasn’t very good and was obviously just trying to overcome his nerves with effort. I dropped him a $20 and he kept strumming but his face lit up in shock and he shouted “Thanks Mister! Wow!! Thanks!!!”

  2. Today I’m in Philly and came across two Teamsters holding down a strike. It was 92 degrees so I asked if I could get them anything. They declined but they were so happy to just have someone pay attention to them and definitely got some energy back.

  3. So I took little Mary to get ice cream at rainbow cone in Valparaiso. I left the young girl who got us the ice cream a very generous tip. Then, I gave her a different set of money an asked that it be used for whoever walks in the door next. Mary and I watched from outside and saw 2 middle aged men who looked like they just got off work and had been working manual labor all day get free ice cream cones! They seemed pretty happy after that!! Paid it forward!

  4. Since November of 2024, my wife Tina has assisted in the rescue of 24 dogs from horrendous situations. We have fostered 12 in our home. We currently have a momma and her 7 puppies that were rescued from a garage near Glendale, AZ. Tina has put their well being over her own. Just knowing that these 24 dogs will have a great life with their forever families has been an unexpected blessing.

  5. I created a R.A.D. program — the Rural Art Disbursement program and donated 100 pieces of my artwork, art supplies, and children’s books to Little Libraries all across rural Wisconsin and Michigan. June 30 is also my sister’s birthday so I was holding space for remembrance and celebration of Thor at the same time.

  6. My kindness is to increase the annual donation to our county food pantry. People in DuPage County do not seem to see the fact that many older people and families of color struggle without adequate food sources in this area.

  7. Each year I do something different. Today I made a donation to Solidara an organization which is working to establish sanctuary in oak Park for many groups.

    Pay it Forward!

  8. I love your mission to be kind.
I’ve got 18 chocolate macaroons to bring to the Kellogg Eye center.

May your good memories help you to smile even as the tears fall.

  9. Someone in our community has fallen upon very hard times. I am packing a box of practical items, encouragement and love to send to him today.

  10. This summer, we’re proud to support kids in the area by coaching open volleyball sessions – sharing knowledge, building teamwork, helping them meet new friends, and fostering their love for the game.
